Bravo, Arland. Bravo to everyone who chooses professional that never really "get a day off." I appreciate all of those fine folks!
People don't stop getting sick, being born, having fires, etc. just because it is a holiday. It is at these times that I appreciate docs, firefighters, etc. even more!
I have a friend who is an Occupational Therapist. While she is not "essential staff," she usually works on the holidays. She says that yes, it sometimes bites, she knew this going into it and wouldn't change a thing. People still need care on the holidays!
